Our Mission.

The ALKARE Foundation is a faith-based organization. We come alongside orphanages to strengthen and support them in body (nutrition), mind (education), and soul (discipleship) in economically challenged areas of the world.

ALKARE believes that orphanages are a perfect place to show God’s mercy, grace and hope by providing three critical services:

Nutritionfeeds the body

Educationbrings opportunities

Spiritual Discipleshipgives purpose

When the basic needs of a child are met, they become more receptive to education and ultimately to the ways God wants to work in their lives.

Our Story.

The ALKARE Foundation supports over 350 orphans in Africa and Mexico. We are asking you to help us by donating, so that we can provide a dependable source of nourishment for our children.

Your donations go to children in need, not only for their nourishment, but also will provide educational scholarships. All those who work at Alkare travel at their own expense and donate their time on a volunteer basis, keeping all expenses extremely low. This ensures every dollar you donate reaches a child in need.

Our foundation is a tax-exempt, non-profit charity, qualified under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations to The ALKARE Foundation are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Our Start.

The ALKARE Foundation (pronounced All Care) was founded on February 25th, 1989 in loving memory of Karla Afman.

Karla was a beloved daughter and sister, in a family of 5 brothers. She was an inspiration to many of her friends, inviting them to seek and know Jesus. But after entering a very promising career, her life was cut short when she was tragically killed by a drunk driver.

As a way to honor her memory and the life she led, her family chose to found Alkare on the insurance funds they received after the accident. Alkare has been honoring her memory ever since.

Alkare brings outreach services, including nutrition programs and educational scholarship opportunities, to children in need in economically challenged areas of the world.
