13th Annual Alkare Foundation Heirloom Tomato Starts Fundraiser

FRIDAY, APRIL 19th 9:00-4:00
SATURDAY, APRIL 20th 9:00-4:00
Sunday April 21st 12:00-4:00

Hello Heirloom Tomato Start Friends,

It’s that time of the year when we get to choose our tomato start varieties. We’ve been busy at the Afman Family Farm seeding, transplanting and nurturing your favorite varieties. Along with amazing heirloom tomato starts we will also have sweet and hot peppers, basils, tomatillos and ground cherries. We might even have some summer/winter squash and cucumber starts too!

Join us in the backyard and wander the tables choosing your favorites.

How

The fundraiser is donation based. I have seen and experienced your generosity through the years and have found this way of fundraising to be the most wonderful experience. Don’t worry…..I can coach you if needed.

WHY

100% of your donation goes to THE ALKARE FOUNDATION’S 5 orphanages nutrition program and educational scholarships. We believe that “Hungry Stomachs Have No Ears” and are committed to providing funds so they are able to care for the children without worrying about their next meal. Please take a look at our website to familiarize yourself with who we are and what we do.

TOMATO GROW GUIDE

A wonderful source of information on growing tomatoes successfully can be found at one of my favorite websites called HOMESTEAD AND CHILL. Deanna wrote an in-depth article covering everything from seeding, transplanting, feeding, pruning, pest issues, and harvesting. I couldn’t have done better myself and and am a little too busy seeding and transplanting your seedlings to write my own growing guide. Enjoy her writing and become the tomato expert you’ve always dreamt of becoming.

In the meantime, once the soil dries out a little, go out and get your garden ready for a bountiful 2024

AND feel free to share this fundraiser with family and friends.

Remember…. 100% of your donation goes directly to THE ALKARE FOUNDATION enabling us to provide our nutrition program and educational scholarships to our orphanages in Uganda, Zambia and Mexico.

Keep growing friends,
