2026 HEIRLOOM TOMATO FUNDRAISER
Hello Heirloom Tomato Start Friends, It’s that time of the year when we get to choose our favorite heirloom tomato start varieties.
We’ve been busy at the Afman Family Farm seeding, transplanting and nurturing your favorite varieties. Along with amazing heirloom tomato starts we will also have sweet and hot peppers, basils, tomatillos and ground cherries. We might even have some summer/winter squash and cucumber starts too!
Join us in the backyard and wander the tables choosing your favorite varieties of tomatoes, peppers and basils!

Below you will find the varieties I am growing in the greenhouse for 2026.
Tomato Varieties - Sungold, Snow White, Black Cherry, Sweety, Yellow Pear, Sweetie, Emerald Green Cherry, Juliet, Early Girl, Box Car Willy, Cherokee Purple, Black Krim, Amish Paste, San Marazano, Roma, Costoleto Genovese, Pink Berkeley Tie Dye, Green Zebra, Pineapple Hawaiian, Brandywine, Amana Orange and Golden Jubilee.
Basil - Genovese, Lemon, Sweet Thai, Cardinal, Tulsi, Everleaf Emerald Tower.
Grilling & Sweet Peppers - JAllepo, Shishito, Padron, Corno Di Toro Red, Gypsy, Hungarian Sweet Wax, Jimmy Nardello, Bulgarian Carrot.
Hot, Spicy & Full of Flavor Peppers - Early Jalapeño, Red Habanero, Serrano Tampequino, Dedo de Moca, Paprika Karlo, Cayenne Long Red, Ring of Fire and Sugar Rush Peach.

We will once again be having a little open air market with Ugandan goods from our orphanage in Nalugazi. Pastor Johns wife, Sarah and the ladies in the village have been busy making handmade beautiful baskets, colorful bags, backpacks and other amazing crafts.
Mia is also whirling with ideas for drinks and treats! Maybe even some fresh organic eggs from our hens!

The property to the south of our property has offered to let us use their field for parking. Please watch for parking signs directing you to the parking area.And then more signs directing you to the fundraiser.

Because we have Children to help by supporting their feeding programs and educational scholarships in Africa and Mexico! 100% of your donation goes to THE ALKARE FOUNDATION.

The fundraiser is donation based. I have seen and experienced your generosity through the years and have found this way of fundraising to be the most wonderful experience. Don’t worry…..I can coach you if needed.

Deanna wrote an in-depth article covering everything from seeding, transplanting, feeding, pruning, pest issues, and harvesting. I couldn’t have done better myself and and am a little too busy seeding and transplanting your seedlings to write my own growing guide.
